Good news for those of you that were a little worried about HP being on the fence with its Personal Systems Group. It appears the new CEO Meg Whitman has started to stabilize things. Meg announced that HP will be keeping its PC division (which is the largest in the world) saying “HP is committed to PSG, and together we are stronger.” Meg also had a little to say about HP’s road map for future tablets “we’re at the beginning stages of a new segment. I hardly think that we’re too late, the work we’re doing with Microsoft is extraordinarily compelling, ultraportables are compelling.” We can only guess Meg is referring to the coming Windows 8 OS (which we previewed and found to be very promising). So Meg seems to have rid HP of the indecision within and set the path for the future. No word yet on the future of WebOS but we think we may never see it on anything more than printers in the future.
