HPs proposed brand redesign released. Could make HP cool again. hp

Starting in 2008 HP started to make an effort to rediscover itself through a logo redesign. The design firm Moving Brands was hired to help with creating a new logo. Moving Brands did a case study and designed a new logo but HP never showed the public what it looked like….until now. The redesign is now available for all to see in the form of pictures and videos.

The redesign is not final yet though. The people at Brand New say ultimately its HP’s decision to implement the redesign and no decision has been made yet. So what does this whole redesign mean. Well according to Moving Brands the new abstract four-line design with its 13 degree slant is meant to evoke progress. Moving Brands recommends using the 13 degree angles in all of HP’s accompanying brochures, web assets, and hardware design.

The new designs are very bold and different from what HP is doing now design wise. Who knows how comfortable HP is with this new image. That might be why we have not seen it until now. Of course Meg Whitman might also be ready to surprise all of us and make HP hip. We will have to wait and see.
