Last week in Beijing Intel held its annual Developer Forum. They showed off lots of products in development, some of which will soon be coming to consumers. One of the most interesting was a hybrid tablet / ultrabook prototype running Windows 8 called the Letexo. The Letexo has the same unique ability as the Asus Eee Pad Slider to transform from a tablet to a laptop.
According to Intel consumers are going to see a lot of hybrid laptop / tablet devices like this when Windows 8 launches this October. Microsoft is banking on devices such as this to help it compete with Apple’s iPad in the tablet market. Intel gave no word on a release date for such devices. But we assume that we will see them when Windows 8 ships.
